On my list of 29 things to do before my “dirty 30s”, I said “hey, why not create a blog!” There are 27 more empty spaces remaining on that list, I technically still have a whole year! Becoming a stay at home mom is not the first if you’re wondering, it just sort of happened.
There have been so many personal changes over the past year and now that things have settled down, I feel like I’ve been on this quest of “I don’t know what to do with my life since I became a stay at home mom” journey. Or “I don’t know what to do when the kids are napping or not around, besides clean” journey.
Everything happened so quickly! I went from working full-time to quitting my job so that I could focus on graduating with my MSW. I had my baby on my last day of class to be exact (no, not in the classroom).
A few months later my husband accepted a job offer on the other side of the U.S. map. So we packed up and here we are in good ol’ Pittsburgh (everyone is so nice here by the way). All this within a year!
Becoming a stay at home mom was not part of the plan, I wanted to return to work, but talk about culture shock! The city of Pittsburgh definitely gave me anxiety. Confusing driving lanes (for me at least, and I was only in the passenger seat), factories everywhere, clusters of buildings. Hills, hills, and hills. Did I mention the plethora of hills? I’m talking about no breathing room type of feeling when I’m in the city. And so my stay at home mom journey began. Pittsburgh, PA was a huge shock moving from Naples/Ft. Myers, Florida.
So long story short, I became a stay at home mom because I was petrified to work in the city.
And now I want to share my journey as a stay at home mom, some recipes as I am raising two vegetarian boys (the youngest is actually vegan), fun educational ideas, money saving routes, and self care ideas. Pinterest Page coming soon, I will post all my home school crafts, budgeting tips, and recipe photos on there as well. I’m so excited about this journey!! I hope you can join me.
